What is the reason why people smoke? Some of them do it to be cool, following the stream. Some people smoke for social networking, and some people smoke as a form of comfort or escape. The recurring element that I’ve observed in all these cases is that the burning of a cigarette, it appears to me, is like a kind of ritual.

In comparison to other photos of the iris, this photo shoot not only emphasizes the visual satisfaction of the surface image but rather attempts to transmit the information underneath the texture within the iris as a way to understand these people. It inspires me to think that there may be a day when we will be able to understand each other through our irises.

This is a small installation practice, imitating the activities of brain neurons while a human is thinking, such as when one has a burst of inspiration. The shadows are just like countless and ever-changing ideas in the mind.
